I am looking for strippable spray vinyl used used to coat a clay model before making a mold of it. Does anyone know where I can find some? thanks in advance.

Also if someone can give me some more in depth info on building molds from clay. I am trying to research the best processes. I know that rayite mdm technique is mentioned by chavant. I am trying to also learn about the tooling foam and fiberglass method. Basically I need high strength molds probably to use for vacuum forming. Any comments would be great. thanks.

Hi Flit, The strippable vinyl that I have used is a product by Sprayon. This is used as a barrier on the clay surface. You will have to use additional release agents on the strippable vinyl otherwise the resin will burn in. Here is a link to the product, www.utilitysafeguard.com/ Navigate - Industrial - sprayon lubricants & specialty chemicals - specialty maintenance, scroll down to S00322 Vinyl Strippable Protective Coating. They also have a line of mold releases that you might want to take a look at; Navigate - Industrial - lubricants & specialty chemicals - mold release agents & mold maintenance. Hope this helps, Steve A
