i read cardesignnews.com mostly and i found the most of designeres writes that they have skills in clay modelling in their portfolio ,but i saw that they even dont know the proper use of tools and clay modelling skills is too far from them, but they take it very easily . i cant understand which type of clay skills they have

Squzee, You will find that most designers will state that they have modeling skills due to the fact that they have to create a model for their graduation program. This does not mean that they are proficient in the art of clay modeling. They may know the fundamentals in how to obtain a shape but the perfecting of that shape is usually left to the professionals who do it for a living. Many of the classic vehicles that people have come to love, have been a corroboration between a designer or designers and a modeling team working together to perfect that vehicle. There are many fine sculptors working at all the automotive companies who take great pride in creating tomorrows new vehicles, so the answer to your post is, no, clay modeling is not a joke. Steve A
