Hi ! I’ve got new tools from my art supplier. wire tools. I’m planning to build some wires by myself soon but I got this complete set of 6 double ended wires for just 15 euros so I decided to give it a try. they are about 17 cm long, to give you an idea. On your step by step section about tools your wires are exactly the reverse that the wires I have. What I mean is that the flat part of the tool is not on the outside, but inside. The profile of the wire is a half circle so I can only sharpen it by working out the outside part…<br>Do you think this tools will be useful or are they just good for "amateurs" ?!! Thanks Seb

Hi Seb, I think the wires that you have purchased are pottery wires i.e. wires for wet clay. You may want to give it a try in sharpening the outside, they will certainly work but you may find it a little difficult in using them in a tight corner situation as the angle would interfere with the surface. Try them out until you manage to make some and then see how they compare to each other. Steve A

Yes they are wires for wet clay. When the outside is sharpened you can work, as long as the surfaces are not very complicated. I’ll make some in the next couple of days … Really enjoy the process of sculpting / tool making. A true lifestyle ! More news this weekend Thx Seb
