hello,
i have a question that i'm sure you can answer. I'm not too familiar with anything dealing with clay but i would like to make clay model of a car. I 've used some of the stuff they sell at the local craft store but i noticed that is shrinks pretty bad and takes too long to dry. well my question is what type of clay do professional clay modelers use when they build a car model? and do you know any web sites where i can buy it. thanks in advance for you help.

Hi Enrique, You will find that there are several posts on this message board that deals with the question of clay. The industry standard for the U.S tends to be Chavant modeling clay which is based in the U.S.A. www.chavant.comTo navigate the site, click on the link above; Home page - brochures on-line - product guide - scroll down to the bottom of the page, styling or Y2klay. This will give you the choices of clay available. There are other industrial clays that are use for automotive such as Faber and Kolb. These clays are used mostly in Europe. Try these links to research the clay most suitable for your needs. www.eberhardfaber.de Check under industrial products. www.kolb-nachf.deThis site gives an overview of their products but you would have to email them specifically for prices on their clay products. Also check the F.A.Q's on my website, here I've put the most relevant postings together for easy reference. Good luck on your search, Steve A
