Hey you ! Maybe it's more a question for Jeff, is there any kind of "annual modelers meeting" or something similar, so people can actualy meet other modelers from all around the world ? Maybe a show specialized in the prototyping field...? An what about a contest for beginners, the first prize would be spending a week or two in a top pro studio ? Just some ideas for people to be more interested in clay sculpting.... Anyway the site is already a great source. ;D Bye Seb

Hello Seb, Thank you for your posting, there used to be an annual meeting of clay modellers in England every year but this was in the days when most of the contracting modellers were English and most of them were in England for Christmas so it was a good time to get together. The meeting was in place years before contracting started, at a pub near to British Leyland in the Midlands where some of the original contractors came from and it evolved into a national event each year. This was one of the factors behind the start of www.autoclaymodellersworld.com. As time went by more modellers of different nationalities started contracting all over the world and we got to know all sorts of modellers from everywhere, a few made it to our annual get together but it was a lot to expect people to travel so far, especially at Christmas time so now I think the meeting is disbanded and modellers make their own arrangements in small groups when they can. The problem is that we are so spread out all over the world that we now rely on the forum on autoclaymodellersworld for social contact and people can make their own arrangements to meet wherever they are. Check out Steve's posting "Scale Model Competition" for your contest idea, but as far as spending a couple of weeks in a studio is concerned, this would be a security problem and will not happen. Keep up with your pro-active postings we need interactivity on the forums , it's good for everybody. Jeff

Hi Jeff, thanks for your reply. Indeed we're in a strange world, communicating so much via internet. I also think that computers wont kill the handwork, it is just a tool that is used a lot. So the passion will stay forever and passionate people will meet again and again. I like your website, sorry I haven't got a lot of time but I'll try to post a little in the future. Concerning spending few days in a studio, I guess it's the prize you get when you attain the pro level. See you Seb
